What this map shows. Each author layer is a conservative extraction of Pleiades place records whose structured bibliography explicitly cites that author/work. It is a Pleiades-linked proxy for an author’s geographic horizon, not an exhaustive reconstruction of every place named, known, or imagined by that author.
Location meaning. Markers are plotted at Pleiades modern representative points. They are not ancient coordinates. A single point can simplify an extended feature such as a river, sea, island, region, or mountain system. Linked records without a representative point are counted in coverage figures but cannot be plotted.

Pleiades recommends numbered archival releases for static scholarly publication. Every Pleiades ID in the app opens the canonical Pleiades record in a new browser tab.
